Well my brother was a drummer and I begged him to teach me and finally he said okay and he gave me a pair of sticks and a tape and told me to get comfortable with them and we would start in a couple of weeks - and he passed away in a motorcycle accident - SO I inherited all of his drumsets including a Pearl, Tama and his prize never used Deep Blue Yamaha set. After about 6 months I got a drum teacher (the drummer Kevin from MaMa's Pride) and I told him I wanted to Learn Movin' On by Missouri because that was the first song my brother Tim ever played and sang lead on in public - in 3 months - because I was hosting a 1 year Memorial to my brother in the park with all bands he was a part of and all his friends (a lot of different local musicians) and Kevin played my brothers Tama set next to me playing my brother's Yamaha set (first time ever seen in public) and it was an amazing release - since then I have been trying to teach myself and it is very frustrating - very frustrating - I hit a wall with my right arm and right leg not wanting to act independently - but I will not give up - I know all drummers have gotten over this hump and I just need to figure out how I am going to as well.
