I've never known that there was a 'proper' way to set up a drumset. I always just put things where they felt most comfortable and went at it. I have to compensate for my height, I'm even short for a female at 4'8", but that's never stopped me from being a heavy hitter. Consequently, I go through a lot of drumsticks. - Played in a hard rock band back in the 80's. Played hand drums and bongos since then. Just started playing my set again recently and getting back into a band.
- Describe Your Drum Kit:
- Pearl Vision VMX 7 piece maple kit in Vintage Wine, Zildjian cymbals, Pearl DB pedal, LP cowbell, Roc n Soc short spindle throne with the square seat. I also have my first set, an old Pearl International from 1986 (happily retired) For hand drumming I have an Ashiko drum that I designed and built.
