Musically inclined, boyfriend plays bass in bands, drum set in basement, sat down started playing. Like the John Bonham-Eric Singer sound, but really like Vinny Paul and heavy metal charlie Benante, Anton Fig, Gene Hogalin etc. Love double bass.
Hi Joy, I understand that you need to upgrade the cymbals and hi-hat soon. I just completed my entire cymbal upgrade to the Zildjian A Custom series and I love the sound of them. There's others like Sabian AAX or AA or Paiste 2002 series. But the Zildjian A Custom is highly recommended.
Hey Joy! Thanks so much for reaching out to me. I LOVE Paiste. I feel that there are a lot of reputable brands and types out there but what I can share with you is that the texture of sound you can get from quality Paiste cymbals is rich and very dynamic. That is personally why I like them. They can take a good beating too and I beat them up pretty bad. For me.. sound quality means more. It's the difference between being a drummer and a musician. Your instruments are your tools for conveying emotions and your art. Before I bought my hi-hat I went to Guitar Center in their cymbal room and tested them out for what I was looking for. I had in mind my style, what I demanded from them and then also their potential. What I could see creating with them... I hope you get the chance to do this and think about what you want to play and decided which will help you obtain that while being affordable. As for other tips and tricks, or specifics- feel free to message me- I literally am an open drum book and don't mind sharing :) ROCK \m/
