Hi Gwen!-I really enjoyed your drumming on all your videos. You really nailed the Journey song and the medley. I like your style! Wicked Jezabel looks like a blast! Does it get hectic being in two bands? Keep those videos coming, and Take Care!-Jessica G.

Damn I wish you lived near NJ! We have a drummer, but she is dying to get on lead Guitar (One of those "Muti-instrumentalists"- oy!)...she's drummed for years and is actually sick of it! Go figure! I guess every one likes to be up front now and then. We need someone like you, whom has alot of experience under the belt. Hey, you know you should just start your own band, then You call the shots and know that you are on the same wave length with the members up front. Then again, people always seem to change! lol! If you ever hit NJ or NYC, you have an open invitation for a try out! Rock on!

Hi Gwen! Thanks for the friend invite. I'd heard of Paula some time ago. What was she like as an instructor? She seems like she'd be an awesome mentor! Take Care!-Jessica G.

Gwen,
Now I truly know how you feel. I just got kicked out of my band - which I started. In my case it's more understandable, because I'm a fairly inexperienced drummer. But it doesn't hurt any less. I've been playing with some really experienced folks and we started playing out when we recruited a singer. Originally she just wanted to sing and gig out occasionally - now music is her life again and she wants to move fast and of course that is only possible with an experienced drummer (who I suspect will be her brother - hmm convenient, no?). So she is on my backstabber list but I can't fault the rest of the band because they deserve to play in some really good places. But, that said, it feels like I've been punched in the heart and I don't feel like I'm 100% me without a band now. Weird huh? So have you learned anything positive from your experience that you can share? Even "this too shall pass" would work.
Thanks
Cindi H.

Hi Gwen-I'm fairly new to my band, and am not experienced at drumming as yet, so I always keep in mind that they may want to find someone more experienced. You, on the other hand, have a lot of playing under your belt. Maybe this is just a little lull, and a time to reflect on what you want to do next. That doesn't take away the hurt you might feel at being asked to leave. I see you like Allison Miller too. She's great! Take Care.-Jessica G.

I just saw your page here after I posted a reply to your blog. You do have a wide variety of music genres to pick from, don't you? Wow! Lot of opportunity - maybe moving on to another band is what you're meant to do and you wouldn't have done it without being boosted out of the band you were in. Keep your eyes open, girlfriend, and see where you're meant to be next.

saw your msg. and i say F@*K 'em! :) You know music is your heart and never let one band make you think you can't still accomplish your goals. We've all heard the stories of the drummers always getting the boot first.
